The Dark Wide

“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” - Andy Warhol. People have a strong belief that with enough time, things will change themselves. However, people have to act before change happens. However, in some cases, people do not try to change for various reasons, and it leads to monopolistic corporations that have complete control over the market. However, this should not be the case because these corporations feel like they are at the top, so they stop improving which stops creativity and things become boring.

Some examples of companies like this are YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat. These companies have been around for a while, and they are commonly used by millions of people everyday. However, these companies have not really changed much. If you compare the beginning version of these companies to today’s version, they are still relatively similar. Let’s face it, when we start getting two ads on our YouTube videos. it is about time that we change which source of media we are using.

The idea that I am thinking about this week is a combination of all the best parts and a little bit more on a new app called The Dark Wide. The name is based off the Star Wars phrase “The Dark Side” because it steals from all the best aspects of all the current medias, and it makes a unique product that is better than all the other medias could be alone. The Wide in the name The Dark Wide is because it will be easy to access all over the world.

The contents of this app would vary. For example, it would take the ability to play videos from YouTube, the ability to share photos to all your friends from Instagram, and the ability to send pictures directly to friends from Snapchat. However, the addition to this app is that it will also include group watching where one person controls the app, and the rest of the people can watch and talk to each other while doing it. It is kind of like Facetime, but it would be used for more as a live reaction with friends.

The difficult part of this app would be that it would require a lot of coding and processing, so you would need to hire some programmers who can make this type of app for you. However, it would not be that hard to program something of this sort because programming has become a bigger field with a greater amount of programmers which will make it easy to find someone who could program this type of app.

Opponents to this app would say that you can’t replace something as big as YouTube or Instagram, and people have tried to replace them and they could not. Also, they would say that my app is nothing different from the other startups that have tried to replace YouTube or Instagram. My response is creativity. You have to make this app creative and unique, so people will actually enjoy coming on this app and using it.

Now for the money part, I’ll keep it short. You can make money from pay-per-click advertising, and you could make the advertisement really small in a hidden section of the app. Then, you buy a bunch of bots who will randomly click the adds to an extent that they would think it is humans clicking on the ads. If you don't want to have fun, I guess you could just do normal pay-per-click advertising. For sure though, do not use two ads.
